Hundreds of thousands of plan participants regularly access Newport Group’s Digital Client Access web platform to view and manage their retirement and deferred compensation accounts. Though the previous platform provided a robust level of functionality, it was not easy to use and its look and feel had become antiquated. To elevate its brand to best-in-class, Newport Group engaged Extractable to completely re-envision and redesign the user experience of Digital Client Access for participants, sponsors, advisors, and administrators.
Conceived as a personal financial dashboard, critical information is prioritized within the redesigned Participant Access by hierarchy, typeface size and color. The principle of “progressive disclosure” is employed so as to not overwhelm the user at any point in their journey. Participants can allocate assets, view account balances, track personal performance, review statements, and view past and pending transactions—all from simple actions in the dashboard.
Graphs, charts, and visualizations have been added to Participant Access to enhance participants’ understanding of their financial portfolio and help them generate better long-term personal outcomes. Additionally, the new platform offers a consolidated view across multiple retirement and benefit plans for those participants who have them.
The new Digital Client Access experience is responsive across desktop, tablet and smartphone browsers. And the unified design system enables flexibility for organizational branding by thousands of corporate sponsors.
