On the redesign of Verio’s website

Dan writes: “I visited the Verio website today hoping to find some product details that I easily found last month. They relaunched the site last week and while I think it’s quite attractive, I can’t find the information I’m looking for. I’ve let their sales team know ;-)

I had a look at the site as well, and my thoughts were that I think they went a bit overboard with the jpegs. Because of the poor compression everything takes on a fuzzy, unrefined finish. The “learn more” and “order now” buttons could have easily been gifs, and the banding of the leftnav on subpages is really unfortunate.

I have to admit however that my first thought upon hitting the page is ‘oh, this must be a hosting company’, and that’s before I’ve even had a look around. So from that respect they’ve definitely hit the mark.
