Erick Schonfeld of TechCrunch recently published a posting about MSFT’s Ray Ozzie discussing the future of the industry. It is great. What is amazing is that the story is less about technology and strategy and more about execution. The company that built itself around the mission of a PC on every desk and offering the software to run it, is being trumped by the one that’s mission is to ‘Not be evil’…
I like Ray’s quote:
Our early and clear vision notwithstanding, their execution has surpassed our own in mobile experiences, in the seamless fusion of hardware, software and services, and in social networking and myriad new forms of internet-centric social interaction.
I remain in awe of the potential of mobile and social and, apparently… so does Ray.
