Extractable Redesigns DuPage Credit Union Web Site Leading to 58% Increase in Membership Applications

FOSTER CITY, CA – Extractable, a leading Web strategy consultancy, announced that it partnered with DuPage Credit Union to create a new Web site that helps the credit union better compete with the growing number of financial institutions in its area. DuPage Credit Union launched the site in December 2007 and has already reported an increase of more than 1.4 million hits and 58 percent more membership applications submitted in February 2008 compared to the same time last year.

The Naperville, Ill.-based credit union has nearly 30,000 members who live and work in the western suburbs of Chicago, including DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will Counties and 40 percent of its members are active Web bankers. Located in a rapidly growing metropolis, the credit union realized the value of providing a Web site that extended the use of all its branch services to the Web. The new Web site was designed to appeal to most age groups for both members and non-members alike, with a strong focus on calls to action. The site needed to be intuitive and the functionality needed to be strategically positioned so that a visitor is no more than “three clicks” away from joining the credit union or from gaining information on a new product or service. DuPage executives have observed that their members tend to increase their products per household usage significantly once they become an online banking customer.
