San Francisco, CA. November 11, 2006 - Extractable, the leading West Coast interactive agency, today announced the launch of HTC America's redesigned customer facing website. Today, HTC makes 80% of the mobile phones running the Windows OS. The site represents a comprehensive effort which spanned each of Extractable's core areas of expertise.
Working with HTC business owners, Extractable first gained an appreciation of the various strategic goals HTC sought to achieve via the web. Next, we analyzed the various types of users who would visit HTC's site and the unique tasks each might look to fulfill during their experience. Balancing HTC's business goals with those of the users, we conceived an information architecture and user experience blending strategy and tactics to satisfy both group's requirements. Of specific note is the homepage, which utilizes global navigation as well as navigation by wireless device form factor, providing prospective and current HTC customers the opportunity to navigate toward their desired content via text as well as iconography.
Creatively, the website's design marries HTC's global brand with a distinctive American experience. Visitors are greeted with warm, active imagery selected to embody the flexible, productive, and professional lifestyle HTC's products enable. The "Work + Play" section of the site was created to demonstrate how HTC's Smartphones and Pocket PCs make life's little challenges easier and more fun. Prior to launch, Extractable conducted a usability study with prospective and current HTC customers to judge the proposed site's performance against success metrics and generate feedback to improve the site before launch.
In addition to the WWW site, Extractable implemented a site geared towards wireless surfers. Viewable at http://america.htc.com/mobile, the streamlined site is designed to provide a first line of support to HTC customers on-the-go.
"HTC's phones are simply the most impressive on the market today," commented Joel Oxman, Extractable's Director of Business Development. "The opportunity to partner with such a dedicated team and innovative company is one we truly appreciate. Extractable will continue to support HTC America's web presence as the company continues its electric worldwide growth."
