San Francisco, July 3, 2003 - Extractable, a leading provider of web-based business solutions, announced today that it has redesigned and relaunched a new corporate website for Catalyst Semiconductor. The new site, available at www.catsemi.com, offers a clean and intuitive design that succeeds at enhancing Catalyst's online brand image and enabling customers to quickly find product information.
The new site helps Catalyst publish timely content for the company's most important constituents: customers and distributors. In an industry with strong competition and indirect sales channels a semiconductor firm's corporate web site is often times their most effective means of directly connecting with customers. The new site is designed around the customer's needs and is tightly focused on making the shopping experience efficient. Once customers find the right part, they can simply link directly to a distributor site to buy the product online.
A critical element in the redesign was site search functionality. Because most technical customers are visiting a semiconductor firm's site to find product information, the functionality needs to be easy to use and accurate. Extractable implemented the search functionality using Atomz ASP Search Solution. The solution enables prospective customers to search based on part number, part type, or part name and will automatically index the site over time so as Catalyst adds new site content the search system will include it.
"The newly designed site will help to promote better brand awareness for Catalyst through consistent user interface, while differentiating the company from other semiconductor firms," said Terry Hickman, the Catalyst project lead at Extractable. "Clearly the site is going to help promote Catalyst's offerings and the search functionality is going to make it a lot easier for customers to find the right information."
